Lectionary Class Offerings
Meeting in Room 234 at 9:30 a.m.
Each Sunday the Lectionary Class discusses the pre-set Lectionary passages for that Sunday. You can find the Lectionary scriptures for any given Sunday, by going to: lectionary.library.vanderbilt.edu/.
More about the Class:
The old joke goes: "How do you eat an elephant?" The answer, of course is; "One bite at a time."
How do you study the Bible without going to seminary or getting lost in page after page of "begats" and laws regarding the tethering of oxen? The answer, of course, is "One passage at a time." The Lectionary is a globally recognized cycle of Bible readings which over the course of a 3-year cycle covers everything in the Bible except the "begats" and the tethering of oxen. Members of the class share leadership, facilitating discussion which can be anything from thought-provoking to humorous and everything in between.
Leadership sharing is voluntary, and each class stands on its own merits. Visitors and new members are welcome any and every Sunday. Come once, come twice, come every week and get to know the Scriptures one bite at a time.
