Northaven UMC is joining with White Rock UMC to host a Wonderfully Made Workshop for 5th, 6th and 7th graders. Wonderfully Made is a United Methodist resource that offers preteens an opportunity to begin the important conversations about bodies, human growth, sexuality, reproduction, and relationships from a progressive Christian perspective.
The program helps individuals understand their bodies, the changes they are going through, and how God loves them now and always. The course explains sexual anatomy as well as the different aspects of puberty, and participants will discuss the influence of social media.
The workshop schedule is as follows:
Friday, February 28, 6:00PM - 8:00PM, Northaven UMC, 11211 Preston Road
Saturday, March 1, 9:00AM - 3:00PM, White Rock UMC, 1450 Old Gate Lane
Sunday, March 2, 12:15PM - 2:00PM, Youth and parents will attend at their home church location
Friday evening will begin with a parent meeting. Snacks will be provided.
On Saturday, we'll provide donuts and juice in the morning, lunch and afternoon snacks.
Sunday's event will be a luncheon and closing for youth AND parents.
